What types of returns do we handle?

How much to file my tax return?
Prices vary on the complexity of your tax return. Basic returns with only W-2 income is $75. On average Integrity Tax Financial & Insurance clients pay $175-$200 for their tax returns including Schedule A for itemizing deductions.
What is the due date for filing tax returns?
Personal and C-Corp returns are due on April 17, 2018, S-corps, partnerships & LLC's are due on March 15, 2018.
How quickly can I get my refund?
The best way to file is electronically, Integrity Tax Financial & Insurance can e-file both your federal and state returns to get your refunds quicker. The IRS begins accepting electronic returns on January 29, 2018.
How can I get a $2,500 Advance?
Choose to apply to get either an $1,000, $1500 or $2,500 advance from your refund at absolutely NO additional cost. If your refund amount after tax preparation fees is greater than $1,000, $3000 or $7,000 you can apply to receive $1,000, $1,500 or $2,500 respectively in 24 hours!
When can I file head of household?
You can file HOH if you are unmarried or considered unmarried on the last day of the year, paid more than half the cost of keeping up the home and you lived with a qualifying person for more than half the year. If your parent is the qualifying person, they do not have to live with you.
What is the new tax credit available for CA residents?
California has decided to adopt an Earned Income Tax Credit up to $2,775 to help those low-and moderate-income working families. To be eligible, parents must earn less than $22,322 (dependent on their filing status and number of children). You qualify for Cal EITC if:
- You have wages & adjusted gross income within limits described above AND
- All household members must have a social security number that is valid for employment AND
- You do not file "married/RDP filing separately" AND
- You lived in CA for more than half the tax year
What about health insurance?
It is now mandatory for most individuals to have health insurance. There are several ways to get insurance in and out of the marketplace. To qualify for a tax credit that will lower your monthly premiums, you must purchase ON the exchange. We are certified insurance agents that can get you insurance ON the exchange. Open enrollment for Covered CA plans ends on Jan 31, 2018.
How much is my PENALTY for not having health insurance?
For 2017 & 2018, the larger of (a) $695/adult and $347.50/child or (b) 2.5% of your income above filing threshold. Maximum amounts do apply. In 2019, the mandate will not be in effect.
Foreclosures, Short Sales and Taxes? (Oh My!)
Foreclosures and Short-Sales are treated as property sold so it is important to disclose the transaction correctly. There are two aspects to consider: cancellation of debt income and capital gains. There are a few exclusions you may apply to keep COD income from being taxed. For example, if the property was your main home, you may be able to claim the debt cancelled as qualified principal residence indebtedness. Call for details on rentals and 2nd homes.
How can I claim the EIC (Earned Income Credit)?
- have a valid Social Security number, spouse and dependents must have valid SSN's too
- have earned income (either W-2 income or income from self-employment)
- not file married filing separately
- be a U.S. Citizen or resident alien or a non-resident alien married to a U.S. Citizen
- have a qualifying child (son, daughter, stepchild, eligible foster child, or a descendant of any of them, brother, sister, half-sibling, step-sibling or a descendant of any of them)
- not be a qualifying child of anyone
